Kammoon is currently 1/2 way through her first pregnancy (due around October 2008) and likes to eat and sleep a lot. She has a very gentle nature and responds well to volunteers. Low Tong Age: 45 Sex: female Distinctive markings: shorter legs and a very round middle (she is often thought to be pregnant) thin pigmentation marks on ears Mahouts: Jon, Bui |
Low Tong is originally from Surin and used to be a performing elephant. She weighs about 3 tonnes and has to be kept separate from the other elephants as she doesn't get along with them - she is a bit of a diva! When walking through the forest Low Tong walks very slowly and will not walk through water, she will also not bathe in the lake (she will only shower) or drink water from the communal elephant bath. Despite not getting along with other elephants (she thinks she is more beautiful and special) she works very well with volunteers and has a loving nature, liking to be cuddled. Her name means 'gold', and she thinks she is worth it! If you would like to adopt Low Tong please click here |

Lam Pai Age: 30 Sex: female Distinctive markings: Long band of pigmentation down trunk, bony spinal area Mahout: Aod |
Lam Pai is a shy, gentle elephant who take time to trust people. We think that she has been mistreated in the past, possibly having been hit around her face, as she especially dislikes anyone to raise their hands towards her at the front, she also becomes restless if she hears someone walking behind her. Once she gets to know those working with her though she is tolerant and responsive, volunteers working with her feel a real sense of satisfaction once they gain her trust. Lam Pai likes being in open spaces in the forest and has her own special place at the bottom of the camp under trees. Her name means 'good lady.' If you would like to adopt Lam Pai please click here |

Su Da is probably the most chilled out of all the elephants at the camp. Nothing fazes her, although she can get a little agitated if she can hear someone following her but cannot see them. Su Da's favourite thing to do is go to the lake and do the elephant equivalent of belly flops in the water and float along on her side. Em arrived at the camp with his mother Birdie when he was 5 months old. He is very playful especially enjoying rolling up his trunk to the top of his head then letting it go. He is inclined to try and head butt you on you on your behind if you are not careful and anyone that works with him needs to be prepared to be covered in banana goo as he usually likes to cuddle when he has eaten. He tries to play football with anything he finds, but his absolute favourite thing to do is roll around in sand and mud when his mahout has just showered him!

He is very inquisitive and loves to eat, stretching as far as he can into nearby trees for extra food so that he can save his pineapple leaves he already has. When he was one day old he rubbed his eye against a tree and has been blind since. Gan Guay is still getting used to his surroundings so at night stays at the camp with his mother instead of joining the other elephants in the forest.
